Does anyone out there have Bart's hemoglobin? Does it effect your life at all?

I have a foster child who has barts hemoglobin. He is only a month old. Will this effect the rest of his life? Will he be able to play sports and be active? I'm just worried for him. Anyone who knows anything about this would be a great help to my piece of mind. Thanks.
