Work out regimen.......?

I work from reg. hr's 8-5...... i hit the gym b4 and after work...... i get in running (cardio) and i lift weights, but when? is there a better time in the day to do these...... run in the mornings as appose to later/ lift in the mornings as appose to later in the day? both in the morning and later in the day? i want maximum results.....
