After i paid all my money to my chapter 13 trustee money do i have to wait 7 years from then to get it off.?

do i have to wait from the point i pay off the trustee or do i go 7 years from the first payment of my chapter 13? and why does it stay on my credit report? i paid all of it back and all in installments, so why would it hurt my credit, now it is all payed off can i get loans?
