Holden astra hatch sedan wing/spoiler?

i suspect that it is because of the different angles of the panels that the spoiler would be mounted on. it would make the spoiler either ineffective, or possibly even too effective and cause excessive fuel consumption, if it was designed to sit on a panel at 45deg and you mounted it on a panel at 90deg thus making leading edge point downward far more than normal.
