Is there a number to call the White House?

I don't really mean a hotline number, but I mean, the actual White House? I was wondering if they'd actually put me through to the President...I know it's a long shot and they might say the Prez is busy, but I really would like to speak with him. I thought he represented the people. Why not talk to us?
